Meditation and Bumpy Art

Many of Gill Hickman’s textural art works are inspired by her practice of meditation and Chinese exercise.

Qigong or “Chi Kung”, is a ancient system of gentle exercise that can be both relaxing and invigorating. You can read an article about Gill’s work in the Skylark Galleries blog.

Gill will be the Featured Artist at Skylark Galleries 1 from 1st until 26th February 2017. She will be showing a wide selection of her textural art works, including The Five Chinese Elements and The Four Seasons in a variety of sizes and will be present in the gallery on  11/12  and 25/26 February from 2-5pm with samples of her exquisite Japanese silk papers.

On Friday 17th Feb 2017

Gill will;

• talk about her daily meditation practice,
• explain how her “bumpy” embossed collages are created and
• demonstrate some gentle Qigong exercises.

Gill will be at the gallery all day from 12 midday till 8pm and will give the short talk and demo at anytime, on request. So come whenever you can, no need to book!

You are welcome to join in the Qigong if you wish, and you may be pleasantly surprised.
